CLEARING MEMORY CHANNELS

Step 1. Select the desired band.

Step 2. Press [MR] to enter Memory Recall mode.

Step 3. Turn the Tuning control, or press Mic [UP]/[DWN], to
select the desired memory channel.

Step 4. Switch OFF the power to the transceiver.

Step 5. Press [MHz]+ POWER ON.
 A confirmation message appears.

Step 6. Press [MR] again.
 The contents of the selected memory channel are erased.

Note:   Memory channel 1 cannot be cleared.


The steps for the TM-V71A are very similar, but different.

Hi Kevin,
I don't think you can erase a memory once it has been written too unless you
reset the radio.  You can lock out that memory from scanning or you could
set it to an unused frequency.

here's a question about memories on those radios. I have the tmv 7A but I
think the step to do this is the same for most of these radios. You talked
about adding a memory, how about erasing one. So let's say I have memory 4,
how do I get rid of it so it's not even there? I mean besides overwriting
it?
