I use N3FJP software, and can at least speak to the one problem you mention: 
finding out what your last entry was.

All you have to do is go to your Jaws cursor, and use your arrow keys to get 
the last contact info.  It'll be easy to find, I think.

As for editing contacts, that's one I haven't quite solved. ... Fortunately, 
I have a sighted XYL who can help with that if needed, but usually, if I'm 
careful, I won't make too many mistakes that need to be corrected.

If anyone knows an easy way to edit contacts with the n3fjp software, please 
pass it along for the benefit of us all.
