Regarding my email about the Union Square location of Max's restaurant, and the terrible treatment I received from the waiter and the manager there ("Everything has flour on it!" and after checking with the chef about one of my request (potato skins) - "Yes, they have glucose on them. . .")
Thanks to you who wrote supporting emails, and forwarded me links to sites where I can enter a review of this restaurant so others could be aware of the poor service. The only thing that kept me from losing my temper in this situation is knowing I was going to blast them on this listserv. Another more somber reason: both these rude individuals were in their late 20's, early 30's; as prevalent as we are finding celiac to be, odds are that someday they, too, will be dealing with celiac in their own personal lives, whether it be with a parent, a girlfriend, a wife, a child . . .and when they do, maybe they will think back on the day and how they treated the poor woman who was wondering if she could eat the damn potato skins . . .
