Dear L members,
I am currently typing some texts in African languages, Mandinka among
others. The project idea was, that the text would be easier understandable
for people that are not English literate when made available in their mother
tongue. Many people however said they speak Mandinka, but have no idea
about writing it. Therefore, when showing the text to some Mandinka people,
most were quite confused with the special signs like ñ and ¿ for example ñi¿
(this). Instead they would have preferred njing. I am therefore thinking of
typing it without any special signs.
I am looking forward to your comments.
Best regards
Angelika Prox-Dampha Manneh
