The switch on the bottom of the base is to turn the preamp on and off,
toward the back is off I believe, the one toward the front of the mic, on
top is for some reason, to key up the mic though why you would use that with
a PTT and a PTT lock on the base is well beyond me, and the one toward the
back of the mic changes the impedance. I ran the MC-60A on my TS-440 for
many years, and on my TS-570 for a bit too but with the wire running form
the base of the mic to the radio. For that kind of money though I decided
that was stupid so that's when I got my MC-80, and then sold the MC-60A. I
got another MC-60A for my TS-2000 when my MC-80 had so many complaints on
UHF/VHF, but only used it for about 2 weeks, remembered why I don't like the
MC-60A, I didn't like the sound coming out of it, so I put it back in the
box and will probably sell this one at some point too for the right price.
The only reason I held on to it this long is because I learned long ago,
never sell mics, or cables to program radios because you'll want another one
for another radio down the road and the mic or cable might be hard to get. I
know the MC-60A's aren't as easy to get as they once were.
