Russ,
Have a look at all of the small electrolytic capacitors, check for swollen
tops or leakage around the base.
Possibly some have lost power factor.

Subject: [PCBUILD] ASUS doesn't start up

I have an ASUS P4P800-MX motherboard, 2.4 MHz P4, 256 MB RAM, 80 GB SATA
HDD. It came to me non-operating. I checked the power supply, found it
working, replugged everything and it worked. Today I installed 1 GB of DDR
RAM, and it worked once, then failed to start up. Replaced the memory with
the original 256M and it still doesn't start up. No beep codes, switched
power supplies, no change. There are no expansion cards installed. Fans
run, but no beep codes.
Suggestions?
