Nation wide on channels 2-6 there will only be 37 broadcasters. Most
folks
are leaving the low VHF band because of impulse noise. That is the
sparklies
that you see on your screen when watching those channels. In analog they
are
a minor distraction. In digital it causes loss of reception.
Nation wide on channels 7-13 there will be 450 broadcasters as a
comparison
to the above. Broadcasters do not want the low VHF channels.
There is an attraction to the UHF channels because there is a belief
that a
portion of the DTV signal can be used to send video to cell phones. A
yagi
for 600 MHz is much shorter than one for 200 MHz.
