I was blinded in Viet Nam in August of 1967 and a week later James Orr
KK4QJ was also blinded and we were both evacuated to walter Reed Hosp where
we met and became friends. In December I was transferred to a veterans Hosp
near Chicago and we lost contact for over thirty years. At the time neither
one of us had a ham radio license but both of us became licensed later. One
evening I was listening to a net on 3.975 and I heard James for the first
time in over thirty years and we made contact again. It goes to show that you
never can tell.
Best Wishes,
