Well the later meters didn't come with a wall wart.  My first one did and 
the second one did not.  A E S didn't even show it as an option.  It comes 
with a cable with appropriate plug on one end and bear wires on the other. 
It needs 12 v, not sure how much current, but not much.  I've run mine off 
of the cigarette lighter in our car when checking the mobile rig.  You can 
leave it in line all the time, and you can tune up using full power.
