My celiac aunt has been recently having problems with a burning tongue. She has not tried any new foods or medications, & has no other symptoms. It seems to happen at different times & it makes no difference what she's eaten, such as sometimes when she eats an apple, her tongue burns, and other times it doesn't. She said it feels like someone put hot sauce on her tongue. No other part of her mouth burns, ONLY her tongue. There's no swelling or bumps. She's had allergy testing done & has had negative results. I'm wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem & if anything can be done about it.
