If the pdf is standard text, iOs will handle it just fine. You can download ibooks for free if you don't have it already and render pdfs there.

As blind people whose access to such material is otherwise limited (spending fifteen minutes removing DRM versus a few hours or days scanning and cleaning up a file), I think DRM removal is a legitimate topic for the list, provided we all understand that we must do so responsibly and respectfully.
