Hi there,
Try either the Moss Rehab Driving School located in Jenkintown, or the
Bryn Mawr Rehab Driving School based out of Bryn Mawr Rehab in Paoli.
I work in vocational rehabilitation in the Philadelphia area, though
not with blind individuals. But I have sent many referrals to these
driving schools.
They will each need a referral from the student's physician. Both
have their own forms on which the referral must be made. The first
thing they will do is some testing within the clinic to make sure the
vision is adequate. If the student has passed their learner's permit
and the vision tests go okay, they'll then take them on the road for
one-on-one lessons. The instructors at both schools are extremely
experienced in working with people with a wide range of disabilities.
I believe the rates for private pay customers are somewhere around
$150/hour. Hope that helps.
