Rebecca:
I can vouch for Ted's comments on the talking thermostat. I've had one for
about 10 years, and my brother bought one on my recommendation a couple
years after I did.
They make a thermostat that works for both a conventional forced air
furnace and air-conditioning set as well as for a set up that is based on a
heat exchanger.
I know several other people that are equally pleased with the unit.

I have had one of the company's thermostats for over 10 years now and have
had no problems with it. The controls are easy to use, and there is an audio
CD that comes with the product that will jog your memory if you forget how
to, say different times with different temperature settings.

I'd like some recommendations for a talking programmable thermostat.
Thanks.
