i have a iPhone and a ipad as well 'it took me about a month to be toatly happy with them .
along with my apple stuff  i use a bluetooth keyboard as this really helps filling out forms on the phone 
as you can tab or or tab shift as on the pc. i just got a braille keyboard for my husband it was $ 275. , from Flying Blind.com it will work on any item that can use a bluetooth .they have one that has a 12 cell braille display for under $ 1000. 
i use my phone and ipad  more than my pc as you can have a color identifier  and a money  one as well. the gps on the phone is great too  i use Tom tom 
the best thing is it is usable of the shelf and you do not have to buy outrageous priced software for your phone 
my husband hated it at first and it took him 2 months to get it if he can use it anyone can do it. 
the one thing i had to learn was the quick double tap to do things on the phone other than that i just love and would not go back to a button phone 
you can get screen savers  with raised dots and these do help , they have two different ones
