Hi,
here's a simple way to select and delete a paragraph:
1. Go to the beginning of the paragraph.
2. turn on Extended Selection mode by pressing the F8 key.
3. Press ctrl+down-arrow, which here selects the paragraph.
4. Press the delete key.
5. Press the escape key to return to normal mode.

Subject: [VICUG-L] question about microsoft word
Hi all,
I have a sort of dumb question, but I had someone ask me about how to
delete paragraphs and pages from a word document. Well, I have never
really done it the right way for myself because I go to a certain place
in a document and then copy that to the clipboard. Then I open a new
document and paste that portion in there and then keep repeating the
process with copying to the clipboard and pasting in a new document
until I have the precise document I want. It is cumbersome, but I have
not really known how to do it so that you can hear the screen reader
speak what you are highlighting so you can delete it. So if someone can
tell me the right way to explain to someone how to delete paragraphs and
pages I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much.
Lisa
