If someone(s) want to college websites for the different vendors, I
would be happy to rant in my blog about features I like or that I annoy
me. If I am diligent over the next week, I can collect brand names
locally. Some of them are just awful!

Lui and group,

There is a company here in Bakersfield
that develops POS systems that work on a Windows platform.  They may be
able to work with JAWS or other Windows screen readers.

The companies name is ScanSoftPOS.  Their
website is www.scansoftpos.com.  They may be willing to work with
you.  If they are they can call the Center for the Blind and Visually
Impaired in Bakersfield if they need to see a screen reader in action.

Hope this helps,

Paul

Subject: [VICUG-L] Point of sale
systems that are accessible

Greetings:

I'm wondering if anyone has aany experience with using
 JAWS or any
other screen reader on a point of sale system.

The biggest obsticle seems to be finding a way to use the debit
terminals.

I'm considering purchasing a retail business and I need to be able to
work everything independently.

Any thoughts, suggestions or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
