Greetings,

The Setup settings are undocumented and should be used only to avoid
problems in Windows, sound drivers, and incompatibilities with other
software or hardware. They should not be required for a stable, working
computer.

The "allow playback while recording" setting was added to allow a user to
hear what is being recorded for a USB audio device, which normally cannot be
heard on the computer speakers during recording. It just means that you can
start playback during recording, so you can hear what was recorded.

There is a possibility of feedback when used with built-in sound hardware if
recording "Stereo Mix" or "What You Hear" sources, so the option is not
included in GoldWave's main user interface.
