Washington Assistive Technology Foundation

Program Director 

 

About WATF
The Washington Assistive Technology Foundation ("WATF") a nonprofit
established to promote access to technology and economic opportunity for
people with disabilities in Washington state, is seeking candidates with
excellent lending and portfolio management skills to fill the position
of Program Director.  The Program Director will be in charge of WATF's
community development loan programs and other client services.  This is
a unique opportunity to work with a growing Community Development
Financial Institution ("CDFI") with great clients and a congenial staff
and Board.

 

Job Responsibilities

*	Management of WATF's Assistive Technology and Business Equipment
Loan Programs (take applications; underwrite loan applications, prepare
closing documents & disburse loans; prepare denial letters and refer to
alternative resources; monitor and service loan portfolio; provide
post-loan technical assistance; negotiate past due collections and
workouts; oversee maintenance of electronic and physical loan files) 
*	Management of related client services: (One on one technical
assistance including help with small business planning and projections,
referrals to assistive technology vendors and service providers;
disability benefits planning and assistance; organization of WATF
workshops and trainings; curriculum development on financial literacy
and small business planning). 
*	Staff leadership to Loan Review Committee (recruit & train LRC
members; staff LRC meetings; oversee implementation and changes in loan
policy and procedures) 
*	Program Development - oversee expansion of Assistive Technology
IDA & Business Lending Programs 
*	Reporting - Prepare reports for Board and funders.  
*	Program Evaluation: Oversee implementation and data analysis for
annual borrower survey 
*	Oversee marketing and outreach and participate in relevant
partnerships including Asset Building Coalition and Washington State
MicroEnterprise Association.

Qualifications  

*	3 years relevant lending and/or portfolio management experience 
*	Strong background in community economic development, consumer &
small business lending and portfolio management. 
	Experience with DownHome or other loan servicing software 
*	Strong background in program development, management and
evaluation 
*	Excellent people skills and ability to work with diverse
populations 
*	Excellent time management skills; ability to multi-task 
*	Knowledge of, and experience with assistive technology,
disability policy and benefits planning highly desired. 
*	Strong writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
and Publisher 
*	Strong public speaking skills 
*	Ability and availability to travel independently within
Washington state; occasional evening and weekend presentations 
*	Fluency in ASL or other language a plus 
*	Masters Level Work in public administration, community
development, nonprofit administration a plus.

Salary
$45,000-$55,000 depending upon qualifications and experience plus health
& dental benefits and simple IRA.
