Hi Morey,

If they are two physically different drives, it is highly
unlikely.

However, if you have one drive, partitioned into a C and a D
drive, then it is a very real risk.

As a very general rule, look at the drive manufacturer's
warranty. Most good ones these days are between 3 and 5
years. If they are older than that, and have been more or
less in daily use, then consider them past their sell by
date, just as you would a bag of food in the freezer. It
may, or may not last.

George.

Subject: [VICUG-L] 2 hard drive crash?

Hello all,
As many of us have had, I have had 2 hard drive crashes over
the years.
On my semi-new machine, I have 2 hard drives, C and D.
If my main one (C) would crash, is there a probability of
any nature that
it would take my second hard drive with it?
I back up many folders on the second drive, and was just
wondering.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Morey Worthington
