Yes, i know, kat.  but ken made it sound like ms. keller was independently mobile.  I did recently hear that in the 40s, when all the soliders came home from the war, and many were blinded, they did think of seeing eye dogs then, and they did give Helen k. a german shepherd, but i don't know how well helen got around with it, probably did brilliantly at home and in her own townwell, i'm off to order curtains for my living room!

But back in those days, no one had ever conceived of independence for
deaf/blind people.  I'm sure if she were alive today, things would have been
very different for Ms. Keller.
