Ken,

You are confusing - the huge compound cult group as being the prime
example - among Pagans there are poly groups - there is even a poly
partners with disabilities group. They don't make the headlines because
they live in community among everyone else and don't keep the women
covered in sheets and ignorant. I read an interesting article called
"Polyamory - What it is and what it isn't". by Derek McCullough and
David S. Hall, Ph.D. at http://www.ejhs.org/volume6/polyamory.htm -
With responsible non-brainwashed educated adults - I see it as making
for a better home life for children more adults to care for them - less
time in child care - and a larger financial base. The problem is the
only model that makes the news is the "bad" one by the religious
fanatics. Lets face it - even in the normal family - children are abused
-

I know there are whole societies - some African ones and Islamic ones
where it is the way of life. Again this is topic that one needs to do
research on -

Some people will be happy in just such an environment - some people need
traditional marriage thing - and some of us actually like being single.
And with the way everyone pushes marriage - I am surprised being single
isn't illegal.

well many argue just that, mag. my point was that if
group marriage is okayed (and it might be), it gets
harder to be sure no kids are hurt and harder to know
there is no coerion and no violence. then you also get
into too close of reletives being in the group. do we
really need to go there?
