why would they set a remote bass up for UHF and only local communications?
Doesn't make sence since echolink and IRLP do that quite nicely.
If they set one up for HF that would be far better.
Depending on what sort of interface they decided to use, it could be quite
accessible, or not at all accessible.  I would presume that they would
attempt to make it as accessible as possible to those using screen readers.
They could use Ham Radio Deluxe I suppose with the remote online feature,
but that would be a bit of a learning curve for most people.
There are other interfaces such as the telephone interface that allows one
to operate the radio using the telephone touch tone keypad from any touch
tone enable phone.  These aren't manufactured anymore but they're still
availible on the used market.  They could also use echolink in a clever
manner as some have, but then you are running into access issues and perhaps
legal ones surrounding access to HF frequencies via echolink.
