I've been using Thunderbird on Windows 7 without any problems. The only 
thing I can suggest is that you go into the Windows control panel and 
press enter on one of the maintenance items. I think there's one that 
says something about general maintenance or repairs. It may help you 
clean up whatever is getting in the way of Thunderbird.
