Phil,
I have a TW1 connected at the output of my AL-811H. I tune the plate
control for maximum power, as indicated by the highest pitch, and turn the
grid control counter-clockwise until I hear the slightest decrease. I don't
know if that's the best way, but I've never been told there's anything wrong
with the way I sound, and the amplifier hasn't gone up in smoke. Ideally,
I'd like to have an oscillator connected to the meter so I could monitor the
grid current, but I haven't hooked it up yet since the other method seems to
be working.
Steve
