thanks for the input.  I guess I know what's needed when I get to another 
club meeting.
As for arrl I hope none of you know this person but many years ago I 
contacted them because I was having antenna adventures and they put me in 
touch with someone who helped folks in the area.  As unlikely as it sounds 
it was a great ham that I had known about 20 years ago and lost touch with. 
The only problem was that he was at least 80 and he could climb about as 
well as I could.  He did have lots of good ideas though that were much 
appreciated.
