Both my mom and I enjoy goat cheese and feta cheese (which is from sheep,
not goat - but you have to make sure it says sheep, cuz if not, then they
sometimes make it from cow's milk) with no problems, and my mom has
become very sensitive to lactose - even yogurt, normal cheese, etc
lately. They make yogurt, etc from goat's milk as well. Also, they make
all different types of goat cheese. Some more like cheddar (ie Alta Dena
makes one like that) others are more like cream cheese (a company called
Chavrie makes one that only has 3 grams of fat per serving; it is really
good on the Rice Almond bread.) and so on.
Feta is great on salads. Because we have had problems with Bleue Cheese
we have started using Feta on salads. Although the tastes are distinctly
different, we really like it a lot. >
Just some suggestions for those who have problems with milk stuff. Oh,
another find is "Rice Dream" ice cream. I usually don't like the pseudo
milk products, but if i remember correctly, the Carob and Coffee flavors of
this are very good (if you like Carob) and the Vanilla is pretty good as
well.
