the d104 might be a bit hard on the input of the tm v71...but i don't think
it'll cause any harm.
If you recall, there was some discussion a while back on updating the firm
ware in the tm v71 and adding menu 111 in the process...menu 111 allows you
to change your mike audio level...for some silly reason, kenwood, in all
their vast wisdom, sets the tx audio to low or medium on there radios as a
default.  Great if your driving a 1977 freight liner with a 3406 cat engine
and an extra loud jake brake...but not good for practical everyday use.
an amplified microphone is certainly an easy work around.
