Hello Jeff:
It is still a mystery to me as to how or when AVG version 8 updates its
virus database.
It was quite obvious to me when using version 7.5.
Might 8.0 be updated when the computer is first turned on there for the
sluggishness at startup?

Subject: [VICUG-L] AVG working, but doing a strange thing when computer
starts
: Hi everyone, I have been using AVG 8 for a week now and like it, but I
: have noticed that when I first turn on my computer it is slow, and after
a
: few minutes I'll hear the little click like IE makes when it goes to a new
: page, and then it speeds back up. Anyone know what this is? I've double
: checked to see and make sure that AVG is running and I only have the
: applications opened I'm using.
