My Braille PC World just had a very good article on this topic. You can
probably red it on their web site. In short, they suggest two options. One
is to use the "advanced search" rather than the simple search. This
provides several more boxes which refine the search. A method I like better
though is to use command line parameters in the simple search. You can use
up to ten search terms. If you put the word "or" between two words, the
search will find every page where one of them is used, but not combine them.
If you put quotes around a word or phrase, the search will be specific to
that exact phrase. If you type a minus sign before a word, the search will
exclude those words from the search. There is more than this primer, check
out the article.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Search engine question

Hello all,
I'm finding using Google is not as efficient as it once was. Linking to
pages such as "Jump" just provides more lists of topics unrelated to my
search.

I've also tried www.dogpile.com, but fouind most of the entries are from
Google.

Does anyone use a general topic search engine you really like and provides
good leads to specific search terms?

Sheila
