Mike,
I had a friend once who lived in South Dakota. The little one horse radio
station he worked for when he was a senior in high school went off the air
at sunset. At midnight, on Sundays, he was supposed to put a carrier on and
take readings. So one night, as he was dumping the carrier on the air at
various power levels, and dropping it, to take meter readings, when he was
finished, he gave hims ham call sign instead of the station call. He even
said, "And standing by for any possible calls," before he realized what he
had done. The phone rang about 1 in the morning at the station and when he
answered it, a local elderly man wanted to know why he gave some weird call
sign when he dropped carrier.
