Colin,
My understanding is that conventional DSL uses the same physical wires as
does the phone audio. That's why you need a filter for each phone in the
line. Fiber-optic DSL is accomplished through an interface box mounted
outside the house. The box has two inputs: one for the analog phone, and
the other for your Internet connection.
