I can say for a fact, unless it's changed in the last couple years, avg is a
complete waste. This based on tests a friend of mine did with a few
computers he had sitting around and some viruses, I don't know where he got
them on disks, but they were the common ones and we pretty well found out
you get what you pay for. You get a free one, it may say it's working, but
it didn't find a single one of the viruses he put on the computers on
purpose though they did come up with random things at random times, almost
always right after install, especially if there were traces of another
antivirus program on the computer.
