Hi Fred,
Mfj makes a matching unit called the 212 that will let you tune your manual 
tuner in receive.

It puts a pusating noise out into your receiver and you tune the uner for a 
null of the noise heard in your receiver.

You put this unit between your transceiver and manual antenna tuner.

Even though it is protected you have to remember to turn it off before 
transmitting.
