Yes, NFB trans is a dos based program and runs in a dos based shell, and you can hear a demo of it on main menu, on their archive page.
I agree, stay away from it, that is, until they come out with a windows  based version.
We don't need to go back to the days of dos, with no menus, my heavens no!

I recently investigated this translator, and it seems to require Dos
commands and run on a Dos shell.  Pam or other listers, is this your
experience with using NFBTrans?  I'm strictly a Windows person and
wouldn't know a Dos command if it bit me in the...  So any help or
advice on using NFBTrans for us Windows-dependent folks would be
tremendously helpful.  Thanks!
