NHC has just announced Gustav is at cat 4 and is replacing their normal 2pm
statement with "A Special Public Advisory" very shortly. I don't think I've
ever heard of that before.

We are 450 miles away and getting the first bands full of rain and
lightning. Gustav's eyewall has made landfall on the Island of Youth, but
that's not going to do much. The sea there is the hottest around at over
31C. Gustav has a chance to enter the GoM at nearly a cat 5. It is moving
fast and there really isn't much of Cuba to stop it (I've been in Pinar del
Rio).

Gustav has just been clocked at 140mph (220kph) at ground level.
