We have acquired (free) a large UNISTAR 10KVA UPS made by General Power
Corporation. It is a model U10000-3 s/n 1525Y. It is not working, and
we do not have any schematics on the device. I have done all of the
simple checks that I can think off, but we still get no charging voltage
from the unit and no power on standby. The company no longer exists
apparently and we can find no info on the machine.
If anyone on the list knows anyone whi has such a UPS or who
might have a schematic or know where I can get one I would like to find
out. If I can fix this, it will save us a bundle of $$$ and a lot of
headaches (we have lots of power crashes, esp. in summer). This system
would be big enough to run all of our critical instruments. Also all the
batteries (12 I think) seem to be in good condition. The unit was sold
in 1989 and the company used to exist in Anaheim, CA
ANY assistance will get you a warm fuzzy feeling all over and my
(almost) eternal gratitude :)
