Apparently you trust a physical brace to keep one alive
The child's situation in q is far more dangerous.
A brace will "control the surrounding neck bones IF the brace stays put.
Braces brake, braces eventually "give way"
The childs problem in INSIDE the neck.
Surgery MIGHT well be advised
Braces are not the entire answer in ALL cases
I admire your faith and trust in a brace but it MIGHT not be the answer if
a brace fails.
That's the risk w a brace and the risk of surgery is just as daunting
-- third opinion from another neuro surgeon.....
