Hi Flor,

As a Scotsman to an Irishman, dare I be blunt? (And as you
know, I tend to be blunter than most anyway. smile.)

Sounds like you've not been in this business too long. May
to September is often as good as dead for business.

June is a bad time in Europe to bring out a new product
release and expect instant sales. It's usually bang in the
middle of school exams

So teachers have others things on their minds, like the up
and coming holidays, and perhaps a trip to Sight Vilage in
the UK, or one of many similar events in the USA.

Then the sneaky devils hit you around September, when the
schools go back, and they suddenly realise they should have
ordered in time to have the goods when the new term
(simester) starts.

So you get grief about delivery - like yesterday!

Of course they also forget to mention that their budget ran
out last term anyway, so they could not possible order, even
if they wanted to.

Perhaps I'm being cruel, but that's certainly true in 80+%
of cases.

As far as the USA is concerned, many of those guys have had
their budgets slashed to smitherines. But to explain that
would be getting into serious politics.

I've only been 25 years or so in this business - and it's
the same the the UK every year.

George.

There is an upgrade link on the site. The upgrade process
appears similar enough to the first-time purchasing process
- with both a try before you buy demo and a purchasable
version.

no, there is a dictionary built into the mac os which works
with voiceover.

I have no idea why sales have not gone well. I would hazard
that folk are
satisfied with what they have or don't know it's out there.
what is the
upgrade process?

You mean, the same talking dictionary being mentioned?
that's interesting.
can you guesstimate then why its latest version has failed
to take off in
that there is an apparent fall-off in purchases of it by
Windows users? I
don't need to try another dictionary, myself.

We released a new version of our Talking Dictionary in June
and since
then sales have slumped quite dramatically. We've no idea
why,
especially as the latest version adds new features. We have,
of
course, retro tested everything to see if we made a mistake
but it all
looks correct.

It would be very helpful if visually impaired users could
try the demo
and give me their opinions - or let me know if it didn't
work at all!

best regards
