I was diagnosed about 6 years ago. Since then I've been on a strict GF diet and have had no problems (outside the once-in-a-great-while mistake).
But for the last 3 or 4 weeks I have been borderline miserable. I'm bloated all the time and I have diarrhea (or a loose stool) after eating nothing but GF food. I feel like I haven't had a normal bowel movement in about a month.
I pay very close attention to what I eat. I know that no gluten is "sneaking in." I have -- over the past few weeks -- eliminated everything from my diet except things that I know are GF (fruit/vegetables) and GF food made in GF facilities. I am also taking acidophilus tables, which have helped me in the past. But this problem continues.
The only thing I can *think* might be causing this is that I was taking mega-doses of Vitamin D for osteoporosis. I noticed that the Vitamin D made my teeth feel funny and my teeth do continue to feel funny. I have stopped taking Vitamin D.
I am going to my gastroenterologist on June 1 (earliest appointment I can get). One thing he always asks me is, "What are people suggesting on your Celiac lists?"
So please give me your suggestions and thoughts for what I might do.
Thanks,
Richard Paul
