Yet another home remedy for constipation - fresh ginger root gently boiled
for 20-30 minutes in approx. 14-16 oz. of water. Use a small sauce pan.
Cut washed ginger root to the approximate length of your thumb and about
double that wide, peel or scrape off the outside peel (a little peel won't
hurt you) and cut into 4-5 pieces. You don't have to crush the ginger. The
longer you let it sit the stronger the tea. Take 8 ounces initially with
plenty of local honey as ginger root is tart alone unless you add either
sweet or savory. You should get relief the next day. You can repeat it
every 12 hours if necessary. You shouldn't have to take it more than 2 days
in a row. This is a relatively gentle experience for most unless you have a
sensitivity to ginger. This is a very common Southwest remedy. Ginger root
can be used for sore throats too, however I would halve the amount of root
used. And an added bonus is it makes your kitchen smell great!

Another point - increase your water intake when you feel constipated.
Consume 12 oz. in a sitting, then 2 hrs., later consume another 12 oz. this
usually helps loosen the hardened stool so you can pass it more easily, even
if you've taken an aid.

Good health to all, Dorina
