Sorry  this has been so long in coming.  I took French and Dutch restaurant cards and had no problem.  Of course, I screened the menus before we went into the restaurant to be sure I had options to ask about.  In every case, the wait staff read the card with interest and went to talk over what I could eat with the chef.  The wait staff was knowledgeable and seemed to care about what happened.  My favorite in Paris was La Mediterranee and in The Hague a cafe on the North Sea called Bora Bora was great for lunch or dinner.
