  Until today, pressing insert+3 on the numeric keypad after downloading new 
messages would tell me how many new messages have just come and how many 
unread messages I have in my Outlook Express Inbox as well as how many 
messages there altogether in my Inbox.

  However, today I've instead been getting a brief nonsensical irrelevancy 
about JAWS.

  I'll be grateful if anyone can suggest how I might restore the old 
functioning of insert+3.  Closing Outlook Express and reopening it didn't do 
it, and rebooting didn't either!
