Accessibility Analyst

SSB provides solutions that allow people with disabilities to access
Information Technology (IT) systems.   SSB’s Accessibility Management
Platform (AMP) allows organizations to implement and manage accessibility
across a diverse, enterprise class IT environment.  AMP allows both public
and private sector organizations to achieve and maintain compliance with
domestic and international accessibility legislation including Section 508
of the Rehabilitation Act.  With over 600 public and private sector
customers, 7000 successfully completed projects, and scalable
infrastructure, SSB is the leader in the field of accessible IT solutions.

SSB has an immediate opening available for an Accessibility Analyst.  The
Accessibility Analyst will work with public sector accounts, onsite to
provide in-process compliance support and guidance.  The Accessibility
Analyst will work directly with customers to support Section 508 compliance
initiatives across a wide variety of IT systems.  Prior knowledge of Section
508 is a plus for this position but a strong technical background in Web
based technologies is a must.

Responsibilities

•	Work with client staff to handle inquiries relating to Section 508
technical provisions, compliance policy, and acquisition processes
•	Consultant with client project managers and developers to ensure all
aspects of the development lifecycle support the creation of Section 508
compliant applications
•	Perform reviews of Commercial Off The Shelf ("COTS") products and
vendor deliverables to ensure their compliance with Section 508
•	Develop and deliver presentations relating to accessibility and
Section 508 to educate client staff

Qualifications

This position is a technical position and the ideal candidate would hold a
Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science or a related field.
In addition the ideal candidate would have:

•	3 or more years of experience working in a development environment
that required accessibility considerations during implementation.
•	Experience with relevant accessibility standards including WCAG and
Section 508.
•	Technical familiarity core web based technologies including HTML,
CSS, and JavaScript.
•	Experience creating content in Adobe Flash and Adobe Acrobat.
•	Strong organizational and communication skills.
•	Knowledge of assistive technologies including JAWS, Window-Eyes,
Dragon Dictate, MAGic, and ZoomText.
•	Ability to project a positive and professional image to the public
and SSB Bart Group clients. 
•	Ability to work independently.
