have you looked at one of those Hercules USB to serial controllers as a solution?

Subject: Kenwood Program and Computers

Hi All, I am running Windows Vista and all the ports Are USB on the new
computer. From what I have read on the list here. Kenwood's software and
cables don't work on the newer machines. I am thinking about using my old
computer with XP and the cable to run the Kenwood programs. Is this the
best solution? Or has someone solved the vista and USB port problem and I
missed it? Thanks for your help.
