Hi Harvey;

I'm going to check it out myself.

Its not worth it to buy batteries for the older ones I have.

They are just too much money.

I always liked Motorola cordless phones also.

I had them with an answering machine and, when I had a message it would give 
an audible beep.

I don't need to have the talking caller id because I already have the 9900.
