Does anyone know what kind of things (time, heat, lab conditions) affect
the various thyroid blood tests?

I once was sent to a specialist by my GP because a SED rate was 10x
normal. Turned out that a SED rate test is supposed to be done within a
couple of hours after the blood is drawn, and they waited until the next
day.

Upon checking with several other women at work, it was found that we ALL
have exactly the same TSH levels.

Needless to say, this sort of thing makes the lab rather suspect in my
book.
