I must ask a very unusual question. It's kind of hard to describe, but I've
felt a warm sensation in my thyroid area on and off since I discovered I had
Hashimoto's a year ago. It initially felt like hot liquid running down the
back of my throat. Now it simply feels like warmth coming from my throat and
even when I breath out of my mouth I feel it. Here's the most accurate way I
can describe it: It's sort of like the feeling when you've taken some very
potent cough syrup that is loaded with alcohol and you don't know it until it
gets into your throat and burns on the way down. It's that sensation of heat
that I feel all of the time.

The feeling is so weird, and I'm sorry for not explaining it better, but does
anyone else experience this? (I don't have pain or a sore throat at this
time, by the way.) Is there anyone out there who has had thyroid cancer that
can explain what that feels like? My doctor noticed my ANA had increased
during the last year, and I wondered if that could mean cancer? Does anyone
know?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Cherise
