Saran,

Yes, you can have perfectly normal TSH and still have antibodies. My TSH
was normal and I asked for a retest with antibodies, and my antibodies were
40,000 - thus diagnosing Hashimotos Disease.

You will feel lousy for a while, while your body readusts. I too had awful
pain in my hands and wrists - so bad, in fact, that I couldn't even pick up
a saucepan from the stove. Absolute agony.

I also sobbed my way through most of each day, and felt as if I was slowly
cracking up, I was soooooo depressed, without any reason to be. You will
probably find that once you get your medication right, you will not need
antidepressants any more. (However, don't get too eager - I'm still
struggling to get it right after 18 months - still not stable, but 90%
better than before diagnosis). >

I also had dreadful fluttering in chest, so much so, that I used to have to
sit down. That too has gone.

Maybe you're just on the wrong type of meds. Just stay away from iodine (ie
kelp, etc) and soy products (including lethicin) - these will send you potty!

Please keep your chin up - life is semi - normal once you are medicated
properly.

I can't help with medication, because I am from Australia, and it is totally
different.
