Can anyone recommend restaurants in San Francisco that have GF menus or
are GF friendly? I did some research online and wasn't able to find much,
which makes sense in a way as there are very few chain restaurants there.
I'm actually from the SF Bay Area originally, but moved to Colorado about 5
years ago and was diagnosed Celiac 3 years ago. So though I know a ton of
great places to eat in SF, I have no idea whether or not they can accomodate
GF dining. I did email Scoma's (one of my favorites) and they responded
quickly and positively - see below:

Thanks!

Absolutely! We have many guests with Celiac and have lots of tasty menu
items to choose from.

Just let your server know about your dietary situation and we look forward to
having you join us.

And yes, it’s a bummer about the bread.

Sincerely,

Subject: Visiting SF Friday - can you accomodate gluten free needs?

Hi! I was born and raised in CA, and have been enjoying Scoma’s for as long
as I can remember. I now live in Colorado and am coming home for a visit to
SF this weekend. I am celiac now and can’t have any wheat, which is a
bummer in terms of your wonderful sourdough, but I’m hoping you might be
able to accommodate me with other menu items?
