Issue 1- I think that this coaching problem is everywhere in the continent. Let take example Stephen Keshi whom qualified Togo in 06 CAN but before they go for the tournament and for no reason they let him go and hire a westerner who did not win the cup. Same thing happen with Nigeria if I remembered well. I think that they don't trust the natives Coaches when it is come to higher competition.

Issue 2. We should just recognize that this year World Cup is tough. There is no such small team because every team want to win. For instance Brazil today suffer a bit before scoring by playing with the 105th country in FIFA ranking. It is the up to the athlete to be creative.

Subject: My 2 Issues with the World Cup so Far

My two issues on the World Cup:

Remember I am no football/soccer expert.  In Secondary/High School class of 35 students (all boys by the way), I was only the Assistant Reserve Goalkeeper - so no pretences from me.  Just a rather good Mondey Morning Football/Soccer Critic.

==========================

Issue 1.  Foreign Coaches of African Teams:  A Ghanaian coach took the Ghana Under 17 squad to the championship two years ago beating Brazil in the final. It can be done just so long as we overcome our own thinking that a white East European who cannot even speak English to communicate with the players, is a better coach. Shame on us!!!

Issue 2.  Few or No Goals for African Teams:  What is this business of African teams controlling the ball (time of ossession as the Americans say it) for over 70% of time of the game, and the African teams cannot seem to score ??????  Ghana could only win over Serbia on a penalty after dominating the game and being one man up for most of the second half??

Is it the coaching ??????  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
